The Independent Member for Clark, Kristie Johnston has called for the Minister for Skills Training and Workforce Growth commit to the future of the Glenorchy Jobs Hub.
“Today in Parliament I asked the Minister a very simple question:
‘Minister, given the success of the program already and the fact that as you have said it is making a real difference in the lives of jobseekers, will you give a guarantee that the Glenorchy Jobs Hub will be funded on an on-going basis, past the end of this financial year?'”
“Unfortunately, Ms Courtney couldn’t commit to the future of the Glenorchy Jobs Hub.
“She could only give some vague undertaking to conduct an assessment at the end of the financial year.
“Let’s be clear – the Glenorchy Hub has been an outstanding success. The minister herself lauded its achievements at the official opening earlier this week.
“She has all the evidence she needs for the Government to commit now to this important service in Glenorchy and the northern suburbs.
“This Government is eager enough to cut ribbons. But isn’t so keen to give certainty to fund these programs, like the successful Glenorchy Jobs Hub beyond the photo opportunity.”
